This article explains the rules regarding trading during high-impact economic news events at FXRK.
Challenge Phase
During the evaluation phase (Challenge), trading during high-impact economic news events is allowed without restrictions.
Funded Accounts
In funded accounts, traders are allowed to keep positions open during high-impact economic news events.
However, no orders may be executed during the 4 minutes before and the 4 minutes after the news release.
During this restricted window traders cannot open new positions, close existing positions, or trigger pending orders. This restriction applies to all order types including market orders, limit orders, stop orders, take profit, stop loss or any other order execution.
This means:
Positions opened before the restricted window may remain open.
No orders may be executed during the restricted window, including market orders, limit orders, stop orders, take profit, or stop loss.
Practical Example
If the US Unemployment Rate, classified as high-impact news, is scheduled for 14:30, the restricted trading window will be:
From 14:26 to 14:34
During this period:
You cannot open or close trades, including placing or triggering stop-loss or take-profit orders.
If you had an open position before 14:26, you may keep it open, but you must wait until 14:34 to manage it again.
Checking the Economic Calendar
Traders can check upcoming economic events using the MetaTrader economic calendar.
You can access it here:
High-impact news events are marked in red.
Final Recommendation
High-impact news events can cause:
Sudden price volatility
Spread widening
Execution instability
For this reason, traders should:
Review the economic calendar daily
Plan trading activity around important events
Ensure positions are managed before restricted periods
Staying informed about relevant economic events is the trader’s responsibility.
If you have any questions, the FXRK support team is available to assist you.
